Do you have any Mods installed or any wrong version from Gothic?
I had the same problem, and reinstalled the latest update (gameversion on steam = previousrelease)

Try change the location of G1R installation in multiplayer settings.

Do you use vortex to manage mods?

Using Purge Mods in Vortex and then verifying the game files through Steam removes the reparse points and resolves this particular error.
