Hi! Since you're running the launcher through Wine/Proton on Linux, please do not use
Code:
sudo wine
,
Code:
sudo proton
, or run Steam as root. That gives Linux root privileges and is not the same thing as running an application as Administrator inside Windows.
What we need is Windows-side elevation inside the Wine/Proton prefix.
Please fully close Gothic, Steam, and the G1R:MP Launcher. Then open the Wine/Proton Windows Explorer for the same prefix and launch the G1R:MP Launcher from there using Run as Administrator.
For regular Wine, you can open the Windows Explorer with:
Code:
wine explorer
If you're using a custom Wine prefix:
Code:
WINEPREFIX="/path/to/your/prefix" wine explorer
Then find the G1R:MP Launcher
Code:
.exe
, right-click it and choose Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC/elevation prompt if it appears.
If you're using Steam Proton, make sure you do this inside the same Proton prefix/compatdata folder that Gothic and G1R:MP are using. Do not start Gothic manually — only start the G1R:MP Launcher.
If the error still occurs, please send us:
  • Code:
    launcher.log
  • the newest
    Code:
    native-*
    folder from
    Code:
    G1RMultiplayer/client/protocol-26/logs
  • the newest files from
    Code:
    G1RMultiplayer/anticheat/sessions
These files should be inside the Windows user profile in the Wine/Proton prefix, usually under:
Code:
drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/G1RMultiplayer/
Also please tell us which Wine/Proton version you're using, for example Proton Experimental, GE-Proton, or regular Wine.
