Update 0.1.6
Upcoming release — not yet publicly released. This page documents implemented changes planned for G1R:MP 0.1.6. The current public release remains 0.1.5. Documentation publication does not update the launcher, updater or server downloads.
New server-side Lua functions
- ShowAreaNotification /
showAreaNotification— display a native-style area banner for one player, with independent heading, title and duration. - HideAreaNotification /
hideAreaNotification— request early removal from the owning resource.
- createPlayerMount — request a rideable scavenger assigned to an explicit online player.
- destroyPlayerMount — request safe removal of that player's mount from the owning resource.
Four functions are added; aliases are not separate APIs. See Area notifications and Mounts for examples, ownership, lifecycle and limitations.
Rideable scavengers
- Native mounting, riding and dismounting, with synchronized animal/rider position, rotation and animation for observers. Movement presentation covers walk, run, sprint, jumps and swimming.
- Independent player owners, current-state replay for late join and re-entry into synchronization range. One active mount per player; no two-minute lifetime despawn.
- Improved paired movement/interpolation, rider placement and normal foot orientation after dismounting.
- Mounted hit handling preserves authoritative damage and impact presentation while preventing independent foot knockback/hit animation from pulling the rider away from the mount.
- Recovery distinguishes initial boarding from loss of a previously confirmed seat, avoiding premature cleanup during a normal mounting animation.
- Paired petting synchronization is implemented. Availability of the native heart interaction still requires final in-game confirmation; remaining native restrictions are not bypassed.
- Ownership is session-based, not a persistent database assignment. No ownership-transfer API or mounted-attack API is introduced. See Mounts for full boundaries.
Nameplates while riding
- Nameplates refresh independently of foot animation, after the presented rider position is updated. Mounting no longer leaves the label stuck in its preceding visible/hidden state.
- Existing range/view rules, observer-specific aliases and hidden-name/ID settings are retained. The normal nameplate range is not increased.
- Final two-client in-game verification remains required for the latest boarding-recovery and nameplate changes; automated tests do not replace retail rendering tests.
Area notifications
- Automatic native “New area discovered” banners are visually suppressed in multiplayer without disabling world regions, discovery records, quests or streaming.
- Gamemodes can show their own two-line notifications. The display remains passive and does not capture gameplay input.
- Custom text rendering, including Polish characters and Cyrillic, has been confirmed in the development in-game test. The custom banner is independent of native suppression.
Door synchronization and presentation improvements
- Ordinary doors now use smooth opening/closing presentation locally and on remote clients rather than only switching between final poses.
- Reduced avoidable delay before remote door movement. The native door mesh's dormant update interval/cooldown is handled during movement, then its previous settings are restored.
- Improved readiness for the next door interaction after a local opening/closing animation completes, including the affected cell-door case.
- Server authority, exact door identity, key restrictions, final collision and late-join/streaming state restoration remain in place. Late join restores current state rather than replaying an old interaction.
- These are ordinary-door presentation improvements; the existing gate/winch synchronization is not a newly introduced 0.1.6 API. Network delay still exists; identical frame timing is not guaranteed.
Item pickup performance and animation improvements
- Known native remote pickup animations use a validated, bounded cache instead of repeated global animation-object scans during pickup. This addresses the observer-side pickup hitch reported in testing.
- Smoother transition back to locomotion for supported ground pickups, retaining the resident animation graph and reducing the brief arms-only A-pose during recovery.
- Improved handling of interaction-end timing so a pickup's normal recovery tail is not prematurely discarded. Expired actions are not replayed from the beginning.
- Inventory grants, ownership/range validation and authoritative item removal are unchanged. Missing visual assets do not block an inventory operation. Scripted animation APIs keep their existing behavior.
Availability and compatibility
These changes are documented ahead of release. The new Lua API requires updated client and server; the presentation fixes require updated clients. Use matching release packages when 0.1.6 is published. Private development build numbers are not public download instructions.
