What is G1R:MP?
G1R:MP is an unofficial multiplayer modification for Gothic 1 Remake. It is intended to let players connect to community servers and experience the Colony together.
Is the modification free?
Yes. The G1R:MP client and dedicated server software are planned to be fully free. There is no subscription fee for the modification.
Do I need to own Gothic 1 Remake?
Yes. A legitimate PC copy of Gothic 1 Remake is required. G1R:MP does not include or redistribute the original game.
Which platforms are supported?
The player client is planned for Windows x64 and can also run on Linux through Proton or Wine. Dedicated server packages are planned natively for both Windows x64 and Linux x64.
When will downloads become available?
Release links will be published on the Download page when the project reaches a stable public testing stage. Follow the Forum for development updates.
Can I host my own server?
That is a core goal. Dedicated server packages are planned so communities can host and administer their own G1R:MP worlds.
Is G1R:MP an official THQ Nordic project?
No. G1R:MP is an independent fan-made project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by THQ Nordic or Alkimia Interactive.
