Update 0.1.5

Released: G1R:MP 0.1.5 / BUILD144 / Protocol 37 (26 September 2026). Download the Windows client and Windows/Linux dedicated servers. Update both client and server; Protocol 36 and older are incompatible. The APIs below are available from 0.1.5.

NPC scripting

NPC scripting describes the complete server-side API, examples, defaults and limitations:

  • Explicit drawn weapon modes, one-shot whole-body facing, catalog animations and preserved patrol routes.
  • Optional health, invulnerability, melee damage and continuous player targeting. Spawning or equipping an NPC does not automatically enable aggression.
  • Bow, crossbow and seven supported combat spells, finite ammunition/mana, timed preparation/release and opt-in attack requests.
  • Combat pursuit: walk, run, configurable speed or hold position independently of patrol speed.
  • Distance/cone perception and custom server blockers shared with NPC projectile occlusion. Not complete native-world collision or head tracking.
  • Player weapon-mode observation and five new server events.

Existing API extensions

Synchronization and presentation

  • Crouch/sneak posture replication, including stationary posture and current-state replay on relevance entry/late join; no new Lua function is needed.
  • NPC melee action metadata and hit presentation; bow model visibility publication.
  • Recovery from ended melee attacks to locomotion for NPCs and remote players. Active strikes/reactions keep ownership; the locomotion repair mechanism no longer treats normal full-body actions as broken locomotion.
  • Current NPC equipment, life and ongoing action/projectile state are replicated for relevant viewers and late join. Historical damage/releases are not replayed.

These features require updated clients and server. They do not add autonomous faction AI, NPC-to-NPC targeting, head-only gaze or a complete native-world collision mesh. Runtime visual acceptance remains separate from API availability; no claim of perfect graphics in every gameplay situation is made here.

Melee presentation and recovery

  • Improved sampled 1H/2H attack timing and transitions between armed idle, movement and attacks for remote players and NPCs. Damage remains server-authoritative.
  • Blocking presentation uses confirmed block results, with visual/audio feedback. Physical hit blood effects no longer require the old minimum-damage threshold; delayed target resolution uses bounded retries without replaying a hit twice.
  • Knockdown/get-up recovery preserves key-release processing, clears stale movement input and does not freeze vertical falling motion. Explicit script-controlled freezing remains separate.
  • The newly verified Gothic game build is accepted alongside the previously trusted versions.

Upgrade and bundled resources

Back up your server before updating. Install the new executable and merge the updated bundled resources; preserve serverconf.cfg settings, database credentials, server keys, maps and resource .storage. Set your preserved listing version to 0.1.5. Do not replace an existing configured database password with the example CHANGE_ME value.

Both server packages include map_editor and map_scene; these remain optional and are not auto-started. See Map editor and Map scene deployment. Existing 0.1.4 APIs and tools remain available. NVIDIA Reflex/Boost, DLSS/DLAA and DLSS Frame Generation remain disabled by default by the launcher's compatibility policy; see Known issues.
